lyrics

An adolescent with her lips wrapped around the bottle
pops the cap turns up the volume sips it until it’s hollow
no care for tomorrow for she’s living in today
drowning out her misery in the worst possible way
her hairs a mess her stomach hurts her lungs are short of breath
the world is spinning around her with each and every step
she slowly makes her way into a place she wants to be
unconscious and out of touch with reality
when the sun dies down that’s when she gets up
weak from the night before her wrist hurts from the cup
that she refilled until motor skills were untuned
operating under the night sky lit by the moon
she is reckless and care doesn’t appeal to her
all the problems fade away as soon as the drinking occurs
the solution she’s using is only temporary
it’s an easy way out but she feels it’s necessary

thinking comes secondary liquor to the lips first
a bitter taste throughout the night quenches her bitter thirst
now she’s in a car going along for the ride
windows rolled down laughing aloud dying inside
one party to another with strangers she calls friends
she’ll come to discover she’ll be alone in the end
the music is loud as she’s laid back on the couch
the alcohol in her blood is what’s knocking her out
she’s carried up the stairs on to her backs she’s thrown
she’s helpless and her whereabouts are unknown
downstairs are her friends who have failed to notice
that she’s withdrawn from the vicinity and now she’s clotheless
held down slipping in and out of consciousness
she prays to god to get rid of him and the accomplices
but her prays are unheard as she gagged quiet
left alone on the soiled sheets nobody hears her crying

Nobody knows what happened at the party that night
everybody was safe and everything seemed alright
her friends had their fun but she didn’t get her share
waking up in a room alone clothes scattered everywhere
a bruised body and a memory that’s bits and pieces
she can’t recall what happened all she feels is sudden weakness
tears kiss her cheeks as she’s getting dressed again
the best way for her to deal with this is just pretend
that it never happened they’ll never have to know
but with time the pain it brings will swallow her whole
who can believe her now that she kept it to herself
abandoned by her friends when she really need help
she never had a care liquor was the solution
to any problem that she had the liquor helped her lose them
now the only problem that she’s facing is herself
and psychologically she’s not in the best of health

about

The Verbal Surgeon Massachusetts

Unabashedly East Coast, The Surgeon creates music that’s universally enjoyable. This is not snack-pack rap, this is grown man hip hop. Thought provoking, illuminating, honest. The Massachusetts native has a definite East-coast vibe emanating from his soul. He’s an open artist and a lyrical tyrant; The Verbal Surgeon has all the tools to make the game his.
